With the great success of our 2022 hamper project and also after hearing the touching stories from recipients, we decided to continue this as a community project this year with a bigger target of 150 hampers.

Please support this worthy cause with your kind donations to provide some relief and joy to some of the deserving families in Sri Lanka during the Sinhalese and Tamil New Year festive season.

Please note that the SLESA organising committee will ensure that your generous donation will reach the hands of the most needy families. One of our council members will personally attend and coordinate the distribution.

The key activities of the project and the timeline are as indicated below:

• Seek donations from the SLESA members, their families and friends by 15th March 2022
• Finalise the item list and determine the number of hampers to be distributed (based on the total donations) by 20th March 2022
• Coordinate with reliable village heads and obtain details of deserving families by 28th Match 2022
• Liaise with the suppliers in Sri Lanka and order the items by 4th April 2022
• Distribute the hampers to the selected families on the week leading up to the new year
• Provide an update via email to SLESA members of the project completion with the outcome by 16th May 2022.
